Virginia L. Des Jardin

Age 77, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. She was born in Grants, NM on April 20, 1938, to Davis and Kay Bussey. Virginia graduated from Albuquerque Highland High School. She attended University of New Mexico and joined the Pi Kappa Phi Sorority. She was also a Toppers Booster, and Lobo Club member. She retired from LANL and was recognized as the Leader of Special Programs (HR). She was a volunteer at Ronald McDonald House and the Nature Center.  Virginia was also known by her family and friends as Gin. Gin was a beautiful person, loving mother and wife. She loved birds, reading, the outdoors, but most of all she loved people. No one was a stranger. There will be a piece forever missing in the hearts of her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother and grandchild Jennifer Boucher.  Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Robert Des Jardin and son, Scott Wilson, both of Albuquerque, NM; Daughter Lori Boucher of Austin, TX; Daughter, Jill Skelton of Pahrump, NV; her father; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Albuquerque, NM.  Reception to follow at the family's residence.  In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Virginia's honor to Seeds of Love, PO Box 219, Los Indios, TX 78567; seedsofloveinc.org.
