Virginia Garcia

Virginia M. Garcia, affectionately known as Virg, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on November 8, 1939 to Ruth and Paul Vigil.

Throughout her life, Virginia touched the lives of many with her warm smile, unwavering strength, and words of wisdom. She was a devoted wife to Joe Garcia and a loving mother to her children Ralph Sena, John Sena and Debi Padilla. Virginia cherished her role as a grandmother to Dalis Arnold, Nicole Abeyta, and LA Sena, as well as a great-grandmother to Tristan, Tyler, Emberly, and Ryan.

Virginia’s passion for life extended far beyond her family. She found joy in bowling, playing softball, watching hummingbirds flutter in her garden, collecting Thomas Kinkade artwork, and Precious Moments figurines. But most importantly, her love for God and His creation was reflected in how she lived her life. She was a member of Calvary Church in Albuquerque for decades where she served in the children’s ministry and was also a long term member of Bible Study Fellowship International (BSF).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Paul Vigil, her son Ralph Sena, her daughter Joan Sena, former husband Armando (L.A.) Sena, her brother Ray Vigil, and grandmother Beatrice Salazar.

She is survived by her husband Joe Garcia, her son John Sena and wife Melinda, daughter Debi Padilla and husband Mike, grandchildren Dalis Arnold, Nicole Abeyta and husband Joseph, L.A. Sena and fiancée Laura, brother David Vigil and wife Diane, sister Rita Arrietta, and many other relatives, nieces and nephews.

Despite facing challenges, Virginia remained resilient and taught those around her about the importance of unconditional love and perseverance. Her impact on her community was immeasurable, as she shared her kindness and compassion with everyone she met.

Virginia’s legacy of love and strength will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit will always be cherished and remembered.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church on Tuesday, 02/25/25, at 11:00 a.m. They are located at 4001 Osuna Rd NE in Albuquerque NM 87109.
