Virginia S. Gonzales

Gonzales, Virginia S. Loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 78. She was born in Tucumcari, NM on September 19, 1934 to Joe and Francisca Gonzales. Virginia loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Gonzales; son, Joe Lavine Gonzales; daughter, Shannon Gonzales; sister, Ethel Martinez and sister-in-law, Rita Tafoya. Virginia is survived by her loving children, Ramon Gonzales II and wife Donna, Kathryn Gonzales, Patricia Gonzales, Gary Gonzales and Shyanne Gonzales; sisters-in-law Mary Gonzales, Antonia Page, Carmen Martinez, Alice Palafox and Beatrice Perez; brother-in-law, Albert Gonzalez; family friend Charlene Hernandez; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Grants, NM on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.; Interment will follow at the Grants Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lavine Gonzales II, Gary Gonzales II, Noah Gonzales, Mark Gonzales and Anthony Harris. Honorary Bearers are Paul Gonzales and Chris Gonzales. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Presbyterian Hospice for the wonderful care they showed their mother. Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
