Winfield Scott Jarrett Jr., was born on February 11, 1927 and, passed from this world to that of the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2017 at home, peacefully in the company of his caring family.
W. Scott Jarrett Sr., and Ethel Jarrett’s only child, Scott was raised near Phoenixville, PA and spent summers renting beach equipment, and as a lifeguard of the beaches of New Jersey, and Lake Erie. He entered the Navy prior to High School Graduation. At the conclusion of WWII he completed his high school studies, and graduated from Ohio State University on the GI bill.
He then started a career in the FBI that included assignments in San Diego, Seattle, Washington D.C., Deming, NM, and finally Albuquerque. After meeting his then stewardess wife, DeMaris Ann Kampfe, at an FBI/United Airlines social in Seattle, the couple was wed in Omaha NE in 1954.
Three children, David, Cherise, and Robert were born during the first 4 years spent in Washington D.C. As the family moved west in 1967, their 4th child, Steven, was born, and the family settled in Albuquerque for the next 50 years.
Scott was a part-time investor in real estate and stocks, photographer, tomato gardener, and lover of beets. He and DeMaris enjoyed service in their community with volunteer activities at Christ Lutheran, and Faith Lutheran Churches, Presbyterian Hospital, and Meals on Wheels. They also enjoyed many travels across the globe from Alaska to Chile, Europe to China. A private person Scott is remembered as a devoted spouse, a loving and supportive father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and pleasant friend, with a character anchored in fairness and honesty.
He was preceded in death by DeMaris in 2011. His spirit carried forward in the hearts of David and Susan Jarrett, Cherie and Bill Baker, Bob and Yvonne Jarrett, Steve Jarrett and Monet Canter; as well as 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday June 23, 2017 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A reception will follow the service in the Daniels Sun Room Reception Center.
