Wallace Duane Cooper known to his friends and family as “Wally” was born 1/7/29 in Seattle, Washington and died on 2/16/16 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at 87 years old.
His parents were George Henry Cooper and Mildred Elizabeth Holt.
He served in the Army from August 22, 1951 to August 21, 1953 and in the Airforce from January 29, 1959 to August 5, 1963. While in the Airforce in Britain, England, he met his wife, Khyim Cooper.
After his last military duty, he went on to attend Eastern University and obtained a Bachelors of Art in Education and also attended the University of Washington and fell just a few credits shy of earning a Master’s in Psychology as well.
He and his wife were happily married for 29 years before he lost his wife on 2/12/93 at the age of 48 while living in Duvall, Washington. He also had a close friend who was considered a member of the family named Michael Pelleteri who also was lost in October of 92. Other surviving family members include two half sisters on his wife’s side, Angela and Joan, and his wife’s mother, Joyce White, and some cousins. There was no surviving family on his side.
Throughout his life he worked as a teacher, a librarian, an electrician, a contractor on house remodels, a drafter and finally as a technical writer for Boeing for over 20 years.
His special interests were health and fitness, world events, and dogs. He loved working on the house and doing small projects on the house. His favorite activities were walking, working out, reading, studying, researching, eating ice cream and having an occasional Guinness or dark beer. He also enjoyed going out to eat, playing miniature golf with his daughter and visiting with people at Starbucks and at the gym. He also had a dog in his later years named Troubles that kept him very busy!
As an ex-veteran, he often contributed to veteran charities.
He left behind his only daughter, Dwanna Cooper, age 50, who loved him dearly.
