Walter Harris

October 10, 1921 — August 12, 2020

Walter E. Harris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather born October 10, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, met his lord and savior on August 12, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Felicitas C. Harris, and their two sons Walter E. Harris, Jr, Benjamin A. Harris and his two sisters, Eleanor Duminy and Sue Brown.

Walter is survived by daughter Sharon Gamble, son Matthew C. Harris (Donna); son Peter A. Harris (Dawn); daughter Rhoda Estrada (Rudy), as well as eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Walter was a World War II Veteran, who served proudly in the United States Navy as a Motor Machinist’s Mate Third Class.   He was a proud Bakery and Confectionery Union member/retiree of 25 years from Nabisco, Chicago, IL.  He loved the outdoors, fishing, family gatherings and was an exceptional Poker player. He will be sorely missed for his magnetic-lively personality, quick wit and wisdom.

Interment to be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday August 24th, 2020 at 12:30pm.
