Age 87 Our Beloved mom Wanda passed on December 2, 2015 in Rio Rancho, NM.  She passed away at her home surrounded by love, and all of her family.  She was born Wanda Mae Miller on June 6, 1928 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Arthur and Clarice Miller; She graduated from Chase High School in Chase, KS.  After graduation she moved to Kansas City and worked for the American Hereford Association; she also did social work in Phoenix, AZ.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Clay Miller of Hawaii, and Clell “Gene” Miller of Arizona.  She worked for the Federal Government most of her life as a human resource specialist, and was known for being the most knowledgeable, kind and helpful professional to all.  She lived in many places from New Orleans, LA to Helena, MT; however she called Albuquerque home from the 1960s.  After retirement, Wanda worked for 10 years at JC Penny’s, and acquired so many new friends.  However, in the last several years she had the most fun working background in the New Mexico film industry in many TV shows and movies such as Lone Ranger, Swing Vote, Terminator Salvation, Thor, Breaking Bad, and Longmire. It gave her the chance to spend time talking with people of all ages, and many of those people became friends.  Wanda loved to be outside and travel and spend time with her large family; she was an avid reader and loved to solve puzzles, crosswords, and game shows.  She loved to dance and was a huge football fan and loved her Denver Broncos! She  was exceptionally intelligent and there were no strangers in her life - we know no one who knew her who did not adore her.  Everyone that met her became entranced with her interesting and beautiful presence. Her wit and sense of humor delighted her family, neighbors, coworkers, friends, and strangers.  She is survived by her many children, her son Jeff Poole (Annette), and daughters Terry Lee (Brian), Sandy Poole (Marty Sterkel), Lauren Poole (Mike Niemeyer), Sheila Poole, (Dan) and Michelle Hart (Brad), and her nephew Dan Miller.  She is also survived by her grandchildren - Jeremy Lee, Alison (Juan) Cruz, Celeste Rhoads, Lauren Amber Poole, Tara Niemeyer, Rhiannon and Hunter Hart.  Wanda will rest in peace overlooking the Sandias and Manzano mountains and the lights of Albuquerque at Vista Verde Cemetery in Rio Rancho, NM.  A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held Thursday, December 17th, 2015 from 5:00pm-10:00pm at Desert Greens Banquet Hall (Fairway Room) 10035 Country Club Ln NW Albuquerque, NM 87114.  She was a woman of tremendous strength and courage - we were blessed to be her family.  Anything good or strong that we possess within ourselves we got from this amazing woman.  We are grateful for the time we were granted with our mom.  She was awesome.  The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus, especially B.J. and Michelle, who she saw regularly, for their compassion and kindness to our mom.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends donate to Compassus Hospice Foundation at, www.chafoundation.org.
