Weldon "Keith" McCoy went to be with the Lord on the morning of July 22, 2022 at the age of 90 years old. After a happy and adventurous life with his wife Ann of 46 years, he died peacefully in his sleep after a prolonged battle with cancer. Keith will be fondly loved and remembered by his many close family members and friends. He was an introspective intellectual who enjoyed travelling, computing, camping, rafting, skiing, reading, movies, entertainment, singing, playing the piano, and working on electronic devices. Keith grew up on a farm near Tucumseh, Oklahoma with his parents William and Naomi and five siblings and lost most of his hearing when he was 7 years old after suffering a bout of rheumatic fever. He proudly contributed to our nation's security and the advancement of science in his role at Sandia National Laboratory for over 50 years as a satellite engineer, a Private in the Navy who performed radar reconnaissance on a frigate during the Korean War, and received his engineering education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Minnesota. Keith is survived by his wife Ann, sister Marlene, brother Bill, daughter Monya, son Mark Sr., step-daughter Kjersten, and grandchildren Mark Jr., Mathew, Asa, and Camille. He was preceded in death by his brother Nolan and sisters Lavonne and Carolyn.
A graveside memorial service and burial has been scheduled at the Sandia Memorial Gardens cemetery on August 2nd at 10 am.
