Wilfred Chavez

CHAVEZ-Wilfred Chavez, a resident of Pittsburg, California for many years, passed away on February 2, 2009. Mr. Chavez was born on November 24, in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Pat Chavez Sr. with whom he is now united along with his loving Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Chavez is survived by Maria, his loving wife of 52 years; two sons Mark and Jay, daughter Lynette Chavez-Ward and husband Maurice, grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick, John-Alex Chavez, and Milo, Mariah and Malik Ward. Also surviving are his brothers Joe Chavez and wife, Barbara of Rosemond, CA, Pat Chavez Jr. and wife, Rita, sisters, Margaret DeVolk and husband, Gerald, Pauline Perea, Becky Davis and Frances Griego and husband, Joseph; along with many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all that loved him and will have a special place in our hearts till we meet again. His passion for art will live on through his many sketches, drawings and paintings. Mr. Chavez served honorably in the United States Air Force, retired after thirty two years as a jeweler for the Zales Corporation. He had a great sense of humor and was an amazing story teller. Mr Chavez was a great inspiration to his family and friends. But most of all he will be remembered as the worlds greatest "PaPa".
