Wilfred Lerma

Wilfred Lerma was born December 26, 1936, and was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on November 12, 2024. Wilfred was born in Mountainair, NM. He then moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1946. He later in life moved to Espanola, NM in the early 1960s where he and wife Flora Lerma, were married in 1980. They then decided to enjoy their retirement in Rio Rancho, NM. 

Wilfred was proceeded in death by his father and mother Timoteo and Antonia Lerma, brothers Dr. Xavier Abey, Joe (Cecilia), Abel (Lydia), Andy (Josie), Issac, Sister Becky (Albert) and his Daughter Theresa Lerma. 

Wilfred is survived by his wife Flora Lerma, daughters Lori Fierro (Steve), Louise Shadoinx (Mark), and Patsy Brawn (Guy). Grandchildren Mike (Veronica), Jennifer (Juan), Katie, Cali, Samantha, Zachary, Amber, and Adam, along with thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Lucy Teaney and brother Johnny Lerma (Diana). 

Wilfred graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1956. After high school he enlisted in the Army Reserves. He then relocated to Espanola, NM where he worked in the banking industry until he started his own business “Espanola Computer Center”. After many successful years as a business owner, he sold his company to go work for the State of New Mexico until his retirement. Wilfred enjoyed all outdoors activities such as boating, camping, hunting and fishing. He was also a boxing enthusiast but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Wilfred, you will be missed more than words can say, but your memory will live on forever.

Services will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM. Rosary will began at 9:45am with Mass and burial to follow
