After a month-long rehab from a stroke, during which he never gave up, Bill suffered another stroke and passed peacefully in his sleep with his wife of 46 years and a family friend by his side. He was 91 years old. Among his proudest accomplishments are serving honorably in the U.S. Navy for 27 years, enjoying a fulfilling post-retirement career with the New Mexico Soccer Referee Association, volunteering for the New Mexico Philharmonic, and dedicating his life to being a loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Ona Albert; brother, Howard Albert; four children, Jeremy Albert, Suzanne (Albert) Husby, Ella Wright, and Etta Eggleston; grandchildren, and many friends whom he treated like family. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Mexico Philharmonic and Make-A-Wish New Mexico.
