William (Bill) H. Bardebben

March 18, 1944 — January 23, 2010

William (Bill) Bardebben passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 23, 2010. He was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. At 17, Bill joined the United States Navy and served from 1963 to 1966 on an oil tanker USS Ponchatoula in the South China Seas. Afterwards he joined the I.B.E.W. Union and became a journeyman lineman. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Leona Guerra; their two daughters Carolyn and husband Mike Arnold, Cathy Bardebben of Bloomfield; three stepdaughters, Anna Chapman, Evelyn Beeson of Aztec, Mary and husband Kenneth Gathings of Bloomfield; two granddaughters, Jessica and husband Johann of Bloomfield, Amanda and husband Bryce Basher; a grandson serving in Irag, Nickolas and wife Toya Gathings; great-granddaughter Hayden; friend of the family, Harry Beeson. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 307 N. Church, in Bloomfield. Celebrant will be Deacon Pat Valdez. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Haiti earthquake victims. Mr. Bardebben's care has been entrusted to: Cope Memorial Chapel 405 S. Main Ave. Aztec, NM (505) 334-9332.
