Denison, William Jean
Age 93, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014. He was born on September 7, 1921 to William H. and Maude Denison of Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from the "original" Albuquerque High School in 1939. Upon graduation, he served our country in the US Army Air Corps and then completed his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNM. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 33 years as a Department Manager and Mechanical Engineer. Mr. Denison enjoyed piloting his airplanes and flew his family to many destinations from Alaska to the southern tip of Mexico. He was a national champion model airplane pilot and a regional champion race car driver in Formula V and SCCA. He and his wife, Jason, were members of the Roadrunners Camping Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane "Jason" Denison; parents, William H. and Maude Denison; siblings, Iva Porter and Muriel Denison; and sister-in-law, Patricia Farley. Mr. Denison is survived by his loving children, William J. Denison and wife, Donna, of Tuttle, OK, Mary Denison of Albuquerque, NM, and David F. Denison and wife, Barbara, of Cedar Crest, NM; grandchildren, Kristen (Stacey) Bowman, Joseph (Aimee) Denison, Zachary Fogelman, Kelly (Liz) Denison, and Sarah Denison; great-grandchildren, Amaya and Graylen Bowman, Cadence and Conner Denison; and sister-in-law, Sheila Farley Delancey. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Strong-Thorne Life Event Center, 1100 Coal Ave SE.
