William Geusz, Jr. passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born in Houston, Texas, on December 6, 1929, and went on to live a remarkable life filled with service, dedication, and love.
William, affectionately known as Bill, moved to St. Louis, Missouri, at an early age, where he spent his formative years and early adulthood. In 1950, he was drafted into the US Army, where he served honorably for several years during the Korean War. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character.
After his military service, Bill embarked on a long and successful career in telecommunications. This profession led him to reside in various cities along the East Coast, where he contributed his skills and expertise to the field.
Upon his retirement, Bill made his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he spent over three decades pursuing his passions. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and cherished moments spent with his family.
Throughout his life, Bill had a deep love for sports. In his youth, he was an avid baseball player and carried that passion into adulthood as a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. After moving to Albuquerque, he became a devoted supporter of the Albuquerque Dukes and Isotopes baseball teams.
Bill's greatest devotion, however, was to his beloved wife, Mary Ellen, to whom he was married for over 71 years. Their enduring love was a source of inspiration to all who knew them.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his sister Eleanor (Jack) Reeves of St. Louis and his children: Lawrence Geusz (Jill Schneider), Steven (Jeanne) Geusz, Michael (Cameron) Geusz, Thomas Geusz, and Suzanne (William) Slauson. He was a loving and engaged grandfather to his grandchildren: Eric Geusz (Kelly Greeff), William (Helen Atkins) Geusz, Thomas Geusz (Katherine Santistevan), Douglas Geusz, Katherine (Ben) St. James, Ryan Geusz (Emily Griffin), Wyatt Slauson, and Sabrina Slauson.
