William Russell Hestand

Hestand, William Russell Age 85, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014. He was born in Roscoe, TX on November 16, 1928 to William Isaac and Pearl Mae (Ratliff) Hestand. William is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bettie L. Hestand; children, Michael Brown, Ragene Brown, Elaine Carlson, and Kimberly Brown Musser. William joined the Army Air Corps at Colorado City, TX, September 16, 1946. He retired from the US Air Force, at the rank of Master Sergeant, on October 1, 1972 at Travis Air Force Base, CA with 26 years of service. He served in both the Korean War and Viet Nam Wars. After retiring from the Air Force, he moved to Kermit, TX where he went to work for the US Post Office as a Mail Carrier, rising to the position of Assistant Postmaster. He retired after 18 1/2 years. William was a 32nd Degree Master Mason of Lodge 1258 in Kermit, TX. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Full Military Honors will be presented.
