William Marino, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother was born on September 24,1955 in Philadelphia, Pa. Willie passed from this world after a courageous battle with cancer on April 2,2017. Willie attended Williamstown High School in Williamstown, New Jersey and graduated in 1974 with an impressive track and cross country record. This enabled him to enroll and graduate from South Eastern Louisiana University with a B.A. in Social Studies. In 1983 Willie met and married the love of his life and the subsequent mother of their four sons. The family settled in central New Mexico in 1985. Willie’s career thrived through his teaching and coaching in the central New Mexico’s school systems. He had a strong commitment to the academic community and was instrumental in inspiring his students by motivating them and creating an optimal learning environment. Willie’s passions in life were his family, friends and students. When not busy with his family, he pursued interests in carpentry, gardening, and was a diehard sports fanatic. Willie was guided in life by these philosophies and mottos. “Walk It off. Finish the race.” “If you’re going to do something, don’t fake it.” “Never miss out on an opportunity to teach kids something…. anything!”
Willie is survived by his wife, Xiomara, and their sons, Matthew, Carlo, Dominic, and Angelo.
In addition, he is survived by his granddaughter, Emily; mother, Eugenia; brothers, Jerry, Vince, Michael, Robert, John and David; and sisters, Carolyn and Mary.
