Deacon Matlock, loved the Lord, He was proud to introduce himself as Deacon W. T. Matlock. He dedicated his life and his work to the church. There is nothing that he would not do for the church. Often he would take from his own pocket to purchase material, supplies and whatever the church needed. He would never charge the church for any work. The church was remodeled by Deacon Matlock and Rev. Mock. When the church called Rev. Ronald J. Knight as their pastor, Deacon Matlock continued working in the church.
Deacon Matlock was the handyman for the community. When ever, you needed anything done you would call Deacon Matlock. There was nothing that he could not fix.. He was the true example of a Deacon.
