William Jim Thomas

Thomas, William Jim 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Naschitti, NM on March 3, 1931 to Jim and Joann (Tsinginnie)Thomas. William was a resident of Magdalena since 1960. He retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs - Federal Government after 26 years of dedicated service. William was a jack of all trades. A talented, honest and hardworking Rancher, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. William was so patient, reliable, supportive and protective of all of his loved ones. He was always there for anyone that needed him, and he will always be remembered for his wise advice and knowledge. He was an avid hunter. William made the best BBQ sauce anyone ever tasted. And Above all, William lived his life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, and his beloved son, Tommy Mitchell Thomas in 2011.William is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Isabelle (Pino)Thomas; his devoted children, Marlene Thomas Herrera and husband, Stanley; Arlene Frances Thomas; Joseph Bill Thomas and wife, Janet; and Sharon Jean Thomas; his daughter in law, Angela Thomas; his half brother, Grover Thomas and wife, Susie; and his half sister, Sarah Thomas; his grandchildren, Irvin Smith; Veronica Lynn Smith; Blaine Mitchell Thomas; Elizabeth Thomas; Zachary Ty Thomas; Joey August Thomas; Joshua William "Preacher" Thomas; Brian Mckinley Thomas; Kelly Jasmin Thomas; and Jacob Joseph Thomas. William will also be greatly missed by his great grandchildren, Brenna Rose Smith; Issac Mckinley Herrera; Isiah John "Squirt" Herrera; Tierra Lynn Apachito; Thomas Ray Apachito; Hunter Erby Apachito; and Erby EJ "Shorty"Apachito Jr ; and many other loving family members.The family would like to Thank the Pino family for all their loving support through this difficult time. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday evening of July 5, 2013 at 6:00 pm at the Magdalena Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 am at the Pino Family Campground in Alamo NM. Interment will take place in the Pino Family Cemetery.
