William P. Wieman

November 28, 1956 — June 21, 2018

Join us in celebration of the life of William P. Wieman (Bill).

We lost Bill on June 21st 2018 from complications after heart surgery. He was born in Omaha, NE the son of William F. Wieman and Wanda Bauer. He graduated high school in Council Bluffs, IA and attended UNO. Bill married Debbie Buck and they moved to Albuquerque, NM where he established a commercial construction company, Wieman Commercial. He and Debbie had two boys- Billy Bob and Philip. Bill took great pride in watching the boys play soccer when they were younger, even coaching some of their teams. He was named Coach of the Year once -which he liked to remind you of every now and then. He was always active with a variety of interests from playing on co-ed adult softball and indoor soccer teams, to racing, camping, barbecuing, skiing, boating and most of all carpentry. Bill really enjoyed weekends at the lake driving the pontoon and mastering the grill at cookouts. He always enjoyed bringing friends and family together to create memories and spend time with loved ones, especially his boys, granddaughters and Gina. Bill would always go the extra mile to put a smile on everyone’s face. He liked gambling, winning at the slots, poker games- both with buddies and on the computer, fantasy football, and would text his youngest nephew Jake for help with Nascar fantasy picks. He always rooted for his favorite NFL team- “Da BEARS!” Most wouldn’t know that he liked to watch re-runs of the show ‘Friends’ and deeply believed in having good karma. Bill enjoyed any type of healthy competition from sports to poker games to pool, fuse ball, trivia games and karaoke. Even at Christmas, wearing an ugly sweater or building a gingerbread house became a fun competition. He’s even been known to have a cinnamon raisin bread bake off and probably most of all- competing with his sisters to always be “Mom’s Favorite” -like there was any hope for us girls anyway. He’s definitely the winner in creating great memories for all of us. If you were lucky enough to know Billy- most likely you have a story- quite possibly you have more than one!

Bill is survived by his sons William R. Wieman(BillyBob), Philip Wieman, Life Partner Gina Jolley, step-daughter Danielle Jolley, granddaughters Kennady and Kayla Wieman, step-father Ed Bauer, sisters Linda Wolf, Crystal Klemetti, Betty Morales, Shelly Thompson, brother Andy Wieman, favorite brother-in-law David Morales, nephew Adam McCormick who Bill treated as his third son, numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins and many close friends in New Mexico and Texas.

There will be a memorial service in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday July 14th at 2:00pm at Daniels Funeral Home- 7601 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. with a gathering at Bill and Gina’s home after.
