Willis D. Hardy

HARDY - Willis D. Hardy, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was born September 21, 1924 in Jasper, Tennessee, to Josephine and Harley Hardy. Willis married his wife, Louise Blakely Hardy, August 17, 1946. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard, WWII and then worked for the New Mexico Highway as an Inspector. Willis was a resident of New Mexico since 1938. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and an avid race car fan. Willis was a member of the Masonic Lodge #6. The joy of his life was his family. Willis is survived by his wife, Louise; two daughters, Connie Veitz, and Karen Madison (Bill), all from Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Staci Tethal, of California, Ryan Veitz, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Adrianne Madison, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Chris Madison, of Dallas, Texas; three great grandchildren; cousins, many friends; and his special dog Basil. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in Willis' honor to Ambercare Hospice, 2129 Osuna Rd NE, 87113, or VA Hospital, C/O Volunteer Services 265-1711. Committal Service will be held Monday, April 4th, 2011, at 9:45 A.M., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception for Willis at Monroe's, 6051 Osuna Rd NE, Monday, April 4, 2011, at 2:00 P.M.
