Wilma M. Lombardo

August 19, 1961 — September 9, 2014

Lombardo, Wilma M.

Wilma Marie Lombardo, 53, passed away on September 9, 2014 after a 5 year battle with breast cancer. She was born on August 19, 1961 in Whiteman Air Force Base, MO to Sally A. Dunkin and Thomas E. Batz. Wilma is survived by her husband, Anthony Lombardo; five young children, Sophia, Anthony, Mary, Patricia and Christina; mother and stepfather Sally and James Dunkin; sister Patricia Sedge; brothers Thomas and Timothy Batz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and others. Wilma lived her life in accordance to her strong faith in God, and loved being a part of the Catholic community. She was gifted musically, and loved teaching others how to sing and play guitar. She was a generous person who often opened her home to those in need. She kept busy by shuffling her kids to soccer, gymnastics, choir, and band—always with rosary in hand; learning to quilt with her neighbor; doing chalk drawings; and spending time with her kids. Wilma enjoyed working on her master’s degree in theology in order to keep her brain sharp all the way up until May of this year. She was well-known at Santa Maria De La Paz, and at Church of the Incarnation for volunteering with children and singing at masses. Wilma will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who know that the Kingdom of God just opened its gates for a beautiful woman. A Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of The Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd NE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of The Incarnation. Interment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
