WILMA VILENE MILLER
On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Wilma passed from this life and into eternal life with the Lord. Wilma Vilene Johnston Miller was born on April 5, 1936, in Logan, New Mexico to Herman B. and Rose Irene (Harvey) Johnston. Her family moved to Tucumcari, NM where she attended Tucumcari High School and graduated in 1954. Wilma married her sweetheart, William Don ( Donnie) Miller in Lovington, NM in 1955 and they moved to Albuquerque in 1960. Wilma retired from Sandia National Labs as well as having an earlier career as a bookkeeper. Wilma was a member of the Sagebrush Westside church and actively participated in many service activities there. Loved by many, she will be missed by her family and wide circle of friends. Wilma will be forever remembered for her unwavering faith, patience and and loving, tender nature. She loved sharing the Lord with others and helped introduce Him to her children and grandchildren. She was always very caring and looked after others, being everyone's shoulder to cry on, ear to vent to and always providing a comforting word. She loved family gatherings parties, cookouts and playing games like 31 and dominos...she was quite the competitor. She loved her family very much and always the quiet behind the scenes strength for her family. She loved caring for and spending time with her 2 children: Cindy and Doyle (Elizabeth); and her grandchildren: Kailynn and Jerrod as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by her children, Cindy and Doyle; her parents: sisters: Alna Cooper, Oletha Yocum, Patsy Vernon; and brothers Alton and Troy Johnston. She is survived by her husband, Don Miller; brother-in-law, Allen Dale Rector (Helen); daughter-in-law Elizabeth Miller Patterson (Willie) and grandchildren Kailynn Miller and Jerrod Miller.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday. March 23, 2022 at Sagebrush Church at 7500 Montgomery Blvd NE in Albuquerque.
Interment will take place at a future time in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Daniels Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to either Boys Ranch in Los Lunas or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
