Wilma L. White

Wilma L. "Snow" White, 90, of Farmigton, died on Monday, February 20, 2011 in Farmington. She was born March 12, 1920, in Carrizozo, NM to Albert and Clara Snow. She married Robert "Bob" White on Dec. 29, 1941, and was married to him for 53 wonderful years, until his death in 1995. Wilma earned a teaching degree form A & M College in 1942. She was a member of Kappa Gamma sorority. In 1942, she began teaching at schools in Carsbad and Carrizizo. She also taught at schools in Aztec, Bloomfield and Farmington retiring in 1977. She was a volunteer at San Juan Regional and was an activist for families of resisdents of nursing homes. She loved to garden. She also loved dogs and taught obedience classes for her four-legged friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents, Albert and Clara; and her brothers, Charles and Glenn. She is survived by her son, Allen White; sister, Hope Evans; two grandchidren and two great-grandchildren.
