Age 77, beloved husband, father and brother passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at his home in Albuquerque, NM.
Born in Rustenburg, South Africa on October 28, 1938 to Tjipke (Chip) and Maria Wilhelmina Anna (Mies) Kramer, Wim spent his childhood and early part of his career in southern Africa. Wim was an Exploration Geologist and as such loved the outdoors, whether that was searching for diamonds, hiking trails or enjoying a braai (a.k.a barbecue). His career spanned forty years, twenty spent in 7 countries in southern Africa and twenty in the United States. Wim was an active member of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque Sandia, and never one to back away from a commitment. Wim could always be counted on to have a good bottle of wine handy (South African of course), and an interesting story to share.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chip and Mies, and his brother, Jan. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Kerrin and Quentin; brother, Henk (Molly); sister, Annie (Rob); sister-in-law Lenie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Saranam www.saranamabq.org or the Rotary Club of Albuquerque Sandia P.O. Box 21456 Albuquerque NM 87145.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Reception following service.
