Wolf Christopher Nielsen

Wolf Christopher Nielsen, 64, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, July 23rd at San Juan Regional Medical Center. He was born December 8, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Dr. Carl George Nielsen, Jr. and Margaret Bernice (Hansen) Nielsen. He grew up in Denver, CO and attended Fort Lewis College. He moved to Farmington in 1989 after being named General Manager of Alsco (commercial linen service) before retiring in 2009 after 35 years of service. Wolf was a member of the Farmington Rotary Club, serving as its president in the 1990��?�s. He was also a member of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce Red Coats. He was a past member of the Farmington Elks Club and San Juan Country Club. His hobbies included genealogy, leather work and woodworking. He did beautiful work and thoroughly enjoyed the woodworking classes at San Juan College having recently completed a masterful front door for his home. He and his wife were avid travelers, most recently to follow his family history in Denmark and his beloved Ireland. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Robby. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Katherine (Kathy Hall) Nielsen, of Farmington, and his sons, Wolf Nichols Nielsen (Kelly) of St. Louis, MO and Charles Scott Nielsen (Kathryn) of Arnold, MO and beloved grandchildren Wolf Aidan Nielsen, Camden Ann Nielsen, Lane Katherine Nielsen and Clark Nielsen. He is also survived by his brothers Carl George Nielsen III (Cindy) if Golden, CO and Robert Craig Nielsen (Terri) of Colleyville, TX and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute Street, Farmington.
