Xuhua Zhang

Zhang, Xuhua

Age 46, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019. He was born in Wuhan, Hubei, China on September 19, 1973, to Zhang Ke and Yun Zheng Liu.

He attended Wuhan Hong Shan High School and graduated in 1993. Then he went on to attend the Wuhan Institute of Telecommunications where he earned his Bachelor of Computer Sciences degree in 1997. Later, after moving here to New Mexico, he pursued his Master's of Computer Sciences degree at NM State University which he earned in 2002.

He then began his lifelong career as a Computer Engineer and Entrepeneur which spanned over 20 years.

During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Wei Xiong, on August 13, 1999 in Wuhan, China and they were married for over 20 wonderful years.

Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, skiing, and all other types of outdoor sportsman activities. He also looked forward to scuba diving and spear fishing. He was also an enthusiastic stamp collector, gun collector, and soccer fan.

He attended the Albuquerque Chinese Christian Church, and his family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the church and all their friends who have been there for them throughout the years.

His favorite quote, and one that summed up his philosophy in life was, "Every failure may be the start of the next success".

Xuhua was able to do everything he wanted to do in his life. He died without regret, doing the things he loved most. He was a hardworking man, amazing father and husband, and he always knew how to have a good time. He was an incredible storyteller and his family will always remember the richness of his life and legacy. He was loved by everyone he met and was truly a unique and extraordinary man. 

He was preceded in death by his older sister, Zhang Xi.

Xuhua is survived by his father, Zhang Ke of Wuhan, Hubei; mother, Yun Zheng Liu of Wuhan, Hubei; wife, Wei Xiong of Albuquerque, NM; his two sons, Jared Zhang and Roland Zhang both of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Bojun Zhang of Houston, TX; cousin, Yi Zhu of Las Cruces, NM; and cat, Oreo.
