Yolanda Salazar

Yolanda Salazar was born in Albuquerque and resided in Rio Rancho, NM. She was the
daughter of Joseph and Beatrice Gutierrez. Yolanda was one of seven children.
Yolanda will be remembered for her faith and devotion to Jesus Christ. She loved and
cared for her family greatly, as was shown in many ways including her generosity
towards her family. She was a wonderful cook of New Mexican cuisine and has inspired
her family to recreate her recipes for generations to come. Yolanda always had a song in
her heart. She sang everywhere she went, including in many church productions and
solos.
Yolanda met David in 1973, and in 1977 they married. Yolanda loved David, and in their
later years they enjoyed traveling and spending time together. She was active and
involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. It was evident that Yolanda
loved them and took pride in who they were. In return, she was greatly respected,
loved, and will be missed immensely.
Preceded in death by: Husband David Salazar, Father Joseph Gutierrez, Mother
Beatrice Gutierrez, Sister Dolores Tousley, Brother Raymond Gutierrez, Brother Frank
Gutierrez, Sister Yvette Armijo.
Survived by: Son Dominic Maestas, Son Micah Salazar and Wife Megan, Daughter Juliet
Collins and Husband Jayd, Grandchildren Jade Maestas, Asher Cordes, Alyssa Cordes,
Gavin Collins, Adelyn Collins, Ethan Garcia, and Margot Salazar. Siblings Robert
Gutierrez and Ginger Gutierrez as well as and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021, at 2:00PM at Faith Church 900
Southern Blvd. SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

Interment will be privately held at The United States National Cemetery in Santa Fe,
New Mexico alongside her husband of 43 years.
