Yvonne (Bonnie) Marie Gaumer Connelly, 72, of Farmington passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at her home in Farmington. She was born August 4th, 1938 near Dove Creek, Colorado, the daughter of Simon Gaumer. Bonnie was married to Jerry Connelly who passed away in 1991. During their marriage, she worked side by side with her husband Jerry, building an Oil and Gas Service company known as Quadco Inc. When her husband died, Bonnie assumed control of the business and made it to the top 10 private business in the State of New Mexico for several years. Due to her efforts, in the midst of adversity she was named the Top Business Woman of the State of New Mexico. In 1999, Bonnie was awarded “Humanitarian of the Year Award for San Juan County” for her generous contributions in the Farmington area. She served meals at Daily Bread; served as a Chamber of Commerce Redcoats Ambassador; and was a member of the San Juan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary committed to its mission to meet the healthcare needs of the Four Corners; served on the Board of People Assisting the Homeless (PATH). She annually attended the 4-H livestock auction at the San Juan County fair and participated in helping young people by buying some of their animals and donating them to local charities. She founded the Connelly Hospitality House here in Farmington. She walked hundreds of miles in support of the annual Cancer Walk-a-thon. She supported the Animal Humane Society and wanted any donations for her memorial to be sent to San Juan Animal League, P.O. Box 147, Farmington, NM 87499. Bonnie leaves behind one child, Michael Connelly, grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Mark Ryan, Alexander Michael, and Amanda M. Connelly. Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home
