SHARP - Yvonne “Bonnie” Louise Brown Sharp, age 87, passed away January 10, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Bonnie was born in Albert, KS and was a resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leland Arthur Sharp; her; her parents, Ray and Loualice Brown; and her brothers, Howard, Lester and Raymond Brown. Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Kimberlee Sharp-Dutto and her husband Nick of San Francisco, CA and Gail Sharp-Oliver, and her husband Scott; and her grandchildren, Erin, William and Christian. Before Bonnie’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, she had a very active social life. Bonnie played card games including Bridge several times a week and also online. She was an avid crossword puzzle lover. Her family was always amazed at her vocabulary and her ability to finish the most complicated of puzzles in record time! Bonnie loved being around people of all ages and was always available to assist her friends and family. Bonnie was an example to her family on how to be a true friend during good times and bad. It’s important to remember Bonnie as she was for most of her life and not let Alzheimer’s define her life. The Sharp family wishes to thank those friends who continued to support her during her lengthy illness. It is truly a sign of love and respect to remain a part of a person’s life through the very difficult moments of this disease. Bonnie will be laid to rest with her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A private family service will be held.
