Zane Curley

Curley died March 6, 2011, in Flagstaff. He was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Dilcon, Arizona. Curley was born into the Deerspring People Clan and born for the Salt People Clan. Curley served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He attended Phoenix College and Oakland Technical College. Curley worked for the BIA Roads, Window Rock School District, and the NFPI/BIA Forestry. Curley was a certified carpenter and an agriculture worker throughout the states. He was an avid member of the Veterans Association, Twin Warrior Society, Central Veterans Association and enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing and spending time with family. Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Curley of Fort Defiance, Regina Curley of Fort Defiance, Aurelia Nez of Chinle; brothers, Thomas Curley of Chinle, Austin Curley of Window Rock; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Curley was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Curley , Lena Litsui; brothers, Franklin Curley, Elmer Curley, Notah Tsosie; sister, Marie Tsosie. Pallbearers will be Twin Warriors Society.
