Padilla, Zarek Michael 
Age 58, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home in Socorro, NM. He was born in Socorro, NM on September 27, 1959, to Leah (Laswell) and Damian Padilla Jr.  Zarek graduated from Socorro High School in 1977 and attended the University of New Mexico where he received a BA in Political Science in 1987.  He worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 15 years and then worked for Aerojet for the past 10 years. Zarek enjoyed hunting and fishing and he liked to cook. He was a big Dallas Cowboy's fan and enjoyed watching their games - most of the time.  Zarek will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was preceded in death by his father.  Zarek is survived by son, Dillon Padilla, his mother Valerie Martinez; mother, Leah Padilla; companion, Deborah Bisnett "P.L."; his sisters, Kim Padilla, Belinda Padilla and Nell Rose; and many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.  A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro.  Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 9:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church with Celebrant Rev. John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery  following service.  Pallbearers will be Joey Baca, Mike Vallejos, Aaron Gonzales, Joseph Gutierrez, Emery Gallegos and J. R. Bourquet.  Honorary pallbearers are Ernie Madrid, Russell Chancellor, Victor Rose, Leroy Anaya, Art Onteveros, and George Lucero.
