ZOE
Zoe Gail Walton, age 70, passed away on May 22, 2019. She was born in Philadelphia PA on April 27, 1949, to Charles Walton III and Hilda Grace Pugh. Zoe graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield MA in 1967. She received her Design Drafting Certificate from NY Technical Institute in 1979, after which she moved to NM. She completed her Associate for Applied Science Project Management from TVI in 2006. She had worked at Sandia National Labs in electrical drafting, the Onlin Corporation in FL in the electrical department, Intel in design drafting, and UNM as an architectural drafter.
Zoe enjoyed traveling and particularly photographing new sights in Mazatlan, Philly, Niagara Falls, Corpus Christi, Grand Canyon, Australia, London and Paris. She turned her favorite pictures into beautiful note cards. She made candles and other arts and crafts, gardened, and participated in yoga and pilates. Zoe both volunteered and donated to Saranam, a 2-year housing and education program for homeless families in Albuquerque.
Zoe is survived by her sister, Hildi Grace Plunkett (Christopher) of London, England; nephew Rick Walton (Vicki), great nephew Angelo Joseph Walton, great niece Jenny Walton, all from Cape May Courthouse NJ; sister-in-law Ann Walton of Philadelphia PA, and cousin Marian Sminkley of Elizabethtown PA, and many friends here and around the country.
Zoe was a member of the First Unitarian Church, volunteering in the office and serving on the Building and Grounds Committee.

Her ashes will be spread in the East Mountains along with her cat Pumpkin. Her family cannot be present with us today. However, her sister Hildi from London was visiting Zoe and was with her at the end. Her nephew from NJ came to Albuquerque to take care of Zoe’s affairs. They both were here at critical times.
Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at First Unitarian Church, Comanche and Carlisle.
