Zollie Williams Jr. was born February 26, 1933 in Cedar Rock, North Carolina to the late Zollie Williams and Leila Bell Perry Williams. Her Served his country at home and abroad doing tours of service, twice in Kore and once in Vietnam. Zollie retired from the military in 1972 and returned to Albuquerque at which time he became a member of Antioch Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. J.A. Hopkins. His love for God and strong Christian background led him to unite with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 1974. He was ordained as a deacon in 1976 by the Late Rev. Dr. W.C. Trotter. Deacon Williams or "Deac" as he was affectionately called was certainly "a man after God's own heart" and was a dedicated, faithful worker for the Lord. Those left to cherish his memory, wife, Barbara J. Williams; sons, Zollie III of Denver, Colorado, Michael (Cheryl) of Omaha, Nebraska, Clifford "Butchie" of Denver, Colorado, Larry (Brenda) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous other relatives and dear friends.
