Connie Elvira Abeita

Connie (Elvira) Abeita, age 82, passed away on January 13, 2018 in Rio Rancho, NM. Elvira was born on February 11, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM to her beloved parents Michael and Consuelo Montoya. Elvira attended St. Mary’s High School in Albuquerque, NM where she later received her High School Diploma. On December 05, 1970, Elvira married her loving husband Robert Abeita, they shared over 47 blessed years together. Elvira worked as a Newspaper Printer for many years, 10 years working with the Albuquerque Journal/Tribune, 3 years as an Advertiser in Hawaii and 23 years working with the Seattle PI Times in Seattle, Washington. Elvira will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. Mrs. Abeita is preceded in death by both of her parents Mike and Connie Montoya; her brothers Manuel Montoya and Roland Montoya; her sister Evangeline (Vangie) Sedillo; and her son Alan Nilsen. She is survived by her Husband Robert (Bob) Abeita of Edgewood, NM; Her daughters Becky (Sal) Lucero of Rio Rancho, NM; Debi (Mike) Conrad of Albuquerque, NM; her step-daughters Sheryl Abeita of Denver, CO; Caroline Abeita of Isleta, New Mexico and her daughter in law Tina Nilsen of Maricopa, AZ.

Also her 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and her dog Punkin. The family would like to Thank Lynn and Staff at Lifespire Assisted Living and Janie and Staff at Alliance Hospice for their excellent care that they showed our mother Connie during her illness.

A mass will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 am, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 6:00 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Services- Southern Chapel located at 2400 Southern Blvd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
