Duran, James M. Age 74, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. He was born on February 5, 1940 in Albuquerque to Nora Irene (Armenta) Padilla. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1958 and proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1962-1966. His hobbies included fishing, camping, baseball, and gardening. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy (Lucero) Duran, of Albuquerque, NM; children, Michael Duran and Nicolette of Albuquerque, NM, Danette Lara and husband, Joe, of Albuquerque, NM, Diane Rodriguez and husband, Carlos, of Las Vegas, NV, Lorenzo Duran of Albuquerque, NM, Chris Duran and wife, Tanya, of Albuquerque, NM and Yolanda Duran of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Alex, Toni, Francesca, Manuel, Paul, A.J., Orlando, Ana, Andrew, Geraldine, Josephine, Tomas, Erik, Jason, Sean and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Serenity, Laelia, and Silas; mother, Nora Padilla; brothers, Arnold Padilla and Dickie Padilla. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Parish, 1400 Arenal Road SW, Albuquerque. The Communion Service will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 7, 2014, also at St. Anne's Catholic Parish. Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Manuel Lara, Paul Lara, Orlando Rodriguez, Tomas Duran, Erik Duran, Alex Killgore, A.J. Lara, and Arnold Padilla.
