Lois West Thompson of Albuquerque, born in Dighton, Kansas, Feb. 04, 1929 to Moses and Ester West passed into the arms of the Lord on Feb. 27, 2021, at home and surrounded by her 3 devoted children. Her survivors include both sons, Dan (Kathie), and Gary (Carla), daughter, Karen Pieper (Paul), 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Grady whom she was married to for 70 years, granddaughter Laura Tafoya, four sisters, two brothers and both parents. Lois was humble, modest, and kind, devoted to family and amazingly talented. She was a role model of dignity, integrity, and industriousness to her children and their spouses. The memories of her family meals, her incredible sewing skills, her beautifully appointed homes and the generous time spent with her grandchildren will linger in our hearts. She was very active, never sitting idly. While her health permitted she enjoyed long walks, travel, swimming, skiing, fishing and golf in addition to sewing and homemaking. Until their retirement in 1983 she worked side by side with husband Grady in their family business, Thompson Heating and Air Conditioning, which they started in 1963. It remains in the family today. The family would like to thank her caregivers Belinda and Sandy for their loving care of Lois.
