Robert C. Hyland

Robert C. Hyland (Bob), age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on April 8, 2020.  Bob was born in Olmstead, Minnesota to Obert and Alma Hyland and was one of 9 children. 

He enjoyed many sports and played on the Hayfield High School basketball team, where he proudly received his letterman jacket.

In 1956, Bob married the love of his life, Catherine Marie Baskin.  They had one daughter, Diana.

In 1973, Bob moved his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he worked for the Bernalillo County Fire Department as a Paramedic/Fireman, retiring after 20 years of service.

Bob loved life and had many interests including hunting, camping, traveling, western history, horseshoe, and playing pool with his fellow firefighters winning several trophies.  He was a Minnesota Vikings fan and loved watching the NM Lobos college basketball.

Bob is survived by his wife Cay of 63 years, daughter, Diana Hyland-Eells and husband Tim; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard Hyland; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, NM once a date is finalized.
