Stephen Christopher Apodaca

July 10, 1980 — March 8, 2022

Stephen Christopher Apodaca, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, went home to his Father on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born in Albuquerque, NM and was 41 years old. 

He graduated from Las Cruces High School and later graduated from New Mexico State University. Stephen loved music and history and frequently illuminated his listeners on both topics. He was an avid reader, always fact finding and sharing his knowledge. He also loved to write and often wrote poetry. He had the gift of humor and could lighten a room with his wit. He loved God's beautiful earth and frequently fished, hunted, traveled and explored. He found something to appreciate in every person who's path he crossed and tried to help people who had little support in life. He loved his family, his "brothers", his extended families and friends. 

Stephen is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phil and Isabel Montoya, Gina Gonzales, Ernest and Pita Apodaca. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Berna Gonzales, Francisco and Maggie Apodaca, his brother, Sean, his nephew and nieces, Syler, Mila, Azaleia, Nayelli and Dahlia, his girls, Auntie Ann, Sara-Brianna, Genesis, Arial and Stacy, many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Services will be Friday, March 25, 2022 at San Miguel Church in Socorro, NM at 9:30am. Pallbearers are Syler Apodaca, Vince Vargas, Candie Thomas, Joseph Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Ricardo Gonzales, and Raul Casillas.  Honorary Pallbearers are Sara Ocampo, Genesis Leviner, Sean Apodaca, Johnathan Otto, and Joe Gonzales Jr.
